In the course of working with countless practices, I’ve seen firsthand how the growth of the aesthetic industry has brought prosperity, but also increased business challenges and complexity, putting more pressure on your role as CEO of your practice.

How do you define success, for yourself and your business? For most business owners the answer is usually a number, a financial metric, or some other data point. Becoming more successful means more revenue, more patients, more staff, more procedures, more locations… More. Bigger.
But what if more/bigger came with a corresponding increase in demands and pressure on you as the leader? If growing your business by 50% also meant 50% more of your time, energy, effort, and responsibility, would that be considered successful? At what point does the math no longer work?
Many doctors I meet have achieved their growth goals only to find the personal sacrifices were more than they were prepared for. I have heard a version of the following phrase more times than I can count, “I liked my practice better when we were small”.
In this podcast, we’ll talk about the importance of clarifying what success means to you, personally and for your business.
This isn’t just a philosophical discussion. I’m not a communist and I’m not suggesting you measure your success in the number of hugs or smiles per day. Nor is it an admonition to lower your goals and stay small.
Great businesses and their leaders are clear as to what success means to them. It drives their decisions regarding who they work with, which patients they serve, what services they offer, etc., and that clarity translates directly into exceptional business results and a significantly higher quality of life for the leaders.
Building a better, more successful business starts by defining exactly what that means.
